To begin by paraphrasing a hate speech, addressed to the "true Chileans" (the pelucones) who triumphed in the Civil War of 1830, is a profound mistake (to put it mildly). He does so by applauding the Portalian constitution that had us in a state of siege for 10 years in its beginnings, which led us to a civil war in 1891 and to a 25-year institutional crisis

Thus, for example, in the case Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission, it was successfully argued by conservatives in the United States that it was possible to discriminate against persons of the same sex on the basis of the religious beliefs of a baker who refused to bake a cake for a same-sex marriage. With the literal wording of the proposed article, the "right" to discriminate against persons of the same sex is elevated to a constitutional level; but not only against them, but also against persons who profess a different religion or who do not profess any religion or for other reasons that "my conscience" dictates. In fact, and in passing, the anti-discrimination law currently in force, known as the Zamudio Law, is left as a dead letter.[1]
